Organist Laurens de Man wins Dutch Music Prize

Organist Laurens de Man, celebrated pianist and organist, wins the prestigious Dutch Music Prize. The organist has many footprints in Haarlem churches. In 2010, as a 17-year-old, he was one of the participants in our very first Young Talents Class. He will provide the Opening Concert during the 2024 Organ Festival.

In the years that followed, he was a welcome guest at the Festival, as a student and later also a concert giver. In 2018, he was awarded the JP Sweelinck-Muller Prize during the Festival, the most important incentive prize in the Netherlands for young talented organists. It turned out to be the prelude to the highest achievable: almost six years later, on March 7, Laurens was awarded the Dutch Music Prize in the Orgelpark in Amsterdam. An important event for both Laurens and the organ world!

The International Organ Festival Haarlem would like to congratulate Laurens de Man on this award. Fortunately, he will be active with us again in 2024; he will perform as organist during the Opening Concert on July 13.
