Haarlem schoolchildren sing A Child of Books
The Belgian composer Bart Verheijen presents with organist Laurens de Man, on Saturday, July 13 in the Grote or St. Bavo Church on the famous Christian Muller organ the world premiere of A Child of Books. This work for organ and three choirs: a youth choir, a mixed choir and a children's choir composed of primary school pupils from the Rudolf Steiner School, Kleverpark School and the Spaarne Youth Choir. Child of Books is an adaptation of the children's book of the same name written by Oliver Jeffers en Sam Winston and tells the inspiring story of children who get to know the fantastic world of imagination through reading. Studying Marina Besselink, on the premiere evening the famous Hungarian conductors conductt László Nemes.
